The Perfect Start to Mother's Day Weekend

While my boys surprised me yesterday morning with perfume from Jo Malone and the sweetest little heart-shaped wood frame with Olin's picture in it that he had painted in school, Josh gave me perhaps the greatest gift on Friday by taking the day off.  We spent the first half of the day alone while Olin was in school and then had some really great family time together after school.  It's so great when Josh is with us because as I continue to get bigger and more tired, I am less able to do things with Olin that I want to do, like take him to the playground after school or let him walk instead of ride in his stroller.  So when daddy is along these days, it is just so much more fun.  Plus, daddy is just naturally fun to be with anyway!

Thanks Josh and Olin, I had a wonderful day and I love you both more than all the numbers!

Photos from Friday morning: A morning stroll through Greenwich Village while it was still quiet and serene (quite possibly one of our favorite things to do in the city) :: a quick stop at Cafe Minerva for a mid-morning snack :: Josh seriously pondering aforementioned snack options :: a photo-op on our favorite corner of West 4th (at 35 weeks!) :: and dessert at Chobani Soho after a relaxing lunch in Tribeca and some shopping for the baby in Soho.

Photos from Friday after school:  Olin and I exploring the 91st Street Garden in Riverside Park (if you've seen the movie You've Got Mail, this is the garden where Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan meet in the final scene).  Olin and his class have been learning a lot about gardens and flowers and have even planted some flowers so he has been really loving all the spring flowers around the city lately :: Olin and Josh at Hippo playground in Riverside Park.  I lost count of how many times he went down that slide and the swings were perhaps the greatest thing ever that day... I don't know if I have ever seen him giggle so much!

{And just a note: Olin had an "accident" at school and had to be changed into his back-up clothes, thus his funny, uncoordinated outfit!}
