A Rose for a Rose

When I was born, my dad gave me a single yellow rose to celebrate my birth.  And on each year subsequent, he gave me yellow roses for my birthday in number equal to the age I was turning.

Well. knowing how much this tradition meant to me, Josh decided to do the same for Odette.  It was such a sweet surprise to me when he showed up to the hospital with a single rose for our little girl.  He modified my dad's and my tradition slightly by getting our little girl a pink rose rather than a yellow one to make their tradition their own.  He even got the rose at what I think is one of the cutest florists on the Upper East Side.

She is a lucky lady to have such a wonderful father (as am I).

And not to worry, Josh also brought me the most beautiful hyacinth that so wonderfully perfumed our little hospital room during our stay.  I will forever think of this special time in our lives when I smell the lovely scent of hyacinth.
