"When The Moon Hits Your Eye..."

On Monday. I chaperoned my very first school trip and it was a good one... a trip to the local pizza shop for a lesson in making NY style pizza with Olin's class. I wasn't quick enough with my camera to get a photo of this nice man throwing the dough up in the air, but he really did put on a show for the little ones. And the children were all so cute... they were completely mesmerized with this guy as he explained to them how the pizza is made.  And my goodness, 2 year olds really love pizza... most of them ate more than me and I'm 8 months pregnant!

I fully intend for Olin to be in charge of pizza night at home from now on.

One Year

Today marks a year since we first started our little blog so I thought it fitting to share how our little one has changed over the past twelve months since that first post.  To his mommy, it's quite frightening how much he has grown!

Josh, Olin and I have loved sharing our life with you all this way and feel honored that so many of you read this!  And we are so looking forward to sharing the year ahead with you all, it's going to be a big one with the arrival of our newest family member!

Thank you as always for all of your love and support.

Much love,
Josh, Robin and Olin

The Perfect Start to Mother's Day Weekend

While my boys surprised me yesterday morning with perfume from Jo Malone and the sweetest little heart-shaped wood frame with Olin's picture in it that he had painted in school, Josh gave me perhaps the greatest gift on Friday by taking the day off.  We spent the first half of the day alone while Olin was in school and then had some really great family time together after school.  It's so great when Josh is with us because as I continue to get bigger and more tired, I am less able to do things with Olin that I want to do, like take him to the playground after school or let him walk instead of ride in his stroller.  So when daddy is along these days, it is just so much more fun.  Plus, daddy is just naturally fun to be with anyway!

Thanks Josh and Olin, I had a wonderful day and I love you both more than all the numbers!

Photos from Friday morning: A morning stroll through Greenwich Village while it was still quiet and serene (quite possibly one of our favorite things to do in the city) :: a quick stop at Cafe Minerva for a mid-morning snack :: Josh seriously pondering aforementioned snack options :: a photo-op on our favorite corner of West 4th (at 35 weeks!) :: and dessert at Chobani Soho after a relaxing lunch in Tribeca and some shopping for the baby in Soho.

Photos from Friday after school:  Olin and I exploring the 91st Street Garden in Riverside Park (if you've seen the movie You've Got Mail, this is the garden where Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan meet in the final scene).  Olin and his class have been learning a lot about gardens and flowers and have even planted some flowers so he has been really loving all the spring flowers around the city lately :: Olin and Josh at Hippo playground in Riverside Park.  I lost count of how many times he went down that slide and the swings were perhaps the greatest thing ever that day... I don't know if I have ever seen him giggle so much!

{And just a note: Olin had an "accident" at school and had to be changed into his back-up clothes, thus his funny, uncoordinated outfit!}

Happy Mother's Day

Just a quick post to wish all of the wonderful mothers out there a very happy mother's day!  We are having a lovely day in the Burgher house today - my boys never disappoint.  I truly am a very lucky lady.

My first Mother's Day (May 8, 2011 in Central Park, NYC)...

Video Flashback: Olin in California (May 2012)

I was going through the videos on my phone and found these of Olin from our trip to California last May and I couldn't resist posting them.  I can't believe how little he was just a year ago.  The first is from our breakfast in Berkeley and the second is of Olin giggling at some men playing ping pong at Facebook's HQ.

Also, did we forget to bring a brush with us... that hair, my goodness!

A Spring Weekend with Grandma

It's a good exercise for me to go through these pictures from the beautiful weekend we just had because it's pretty crummy outside today.  We had such a nice time with grandma... shopping for the baby and a girl's lunch at Fig & Olive on Friday, a picnic in Central Park on Saturday and lots of playing and giggles.  There was even some much needed time for daddy and mommy, like a luxuriously long (and uninterrupted) walk around Central Park with just the two of us and a date night dinner at PicNic on Saturday. Thanks again grandma for coming, we had a wonderful time!

In other news, it's picture day for Olin at school today!  We practiced his smile over breakfast and daddy even put a little gel in his hair today to get him camera ready.  I do not envy the brave soul that is tasked with taking photos of so many energetic toddlers today!

Baby girl and I are off to yoga!  Happy Wednesday everyone!

Grandparent's Day

This past Friday, Olin had "Grandparent's/Special Friends Day" at school and Grandma Peg came all the way from Indiana to participate in this special day.  Olin was thrilled to have her here and he had a great time showing her all his "work" at school and introducing her to his friends and teachers.

Here are a few photos from their day together...

And luckily for us, Grandma stayed for the entire weekend so I have more pictures of our fun together that I will post later this week.  Hope everyone else had a great weekend too!
