Half Way

Last Thursday marked the unofficial midway point of my pregnancy.  I know this is contrary to what most women say, but this second pregnancy seems to be going so slow!  I don't know if it is because I have been sicker with this little girl than I was with Olin or if I am just more exhausted having a toddler in the house.  Or maybe (probably), it's because with Olin, Josh and I were so worried about the kind of parents we were going to be and if we were up to the challenge and thought so much about how our lives would change that we needed the full nine months to wrap our heads around this whole "having a baby" thing. But now we know just how wonderful it all is and we just can't wait for our little girl to arrive!

At our ultrasound last week, the doctor informed us that she currently weighs about 13 ounces.  In our pregnancy book, it says our baby should weigh about 9 ounces at this point so I am immediately panicked by the fact that I seem to be carrying Baby Heuy.  And poor Josh has always had this irrational fear that when we had kids, any boys would be my size and any girls would be his size.  Well given that Olin is already on the petite side, Josh heard the size prediction of the baby and said "great, it's happening".  The doctor assured us that her weight is totally normal and that the book is wrong - but the book is written by the Mayo Clinic so it is hard to write off its information as erroneous.  Anyway, it is entirely not an issue, and actually great news in fact that she is thriving and growing so big.  We have had some good laughs about it over the past few days though!

And for those of you that were asking, this is what we are looking like at 20 weeks...

Oh, and Josh took this picture of our pantry this morning because he thought it was so funny.  This baby can't seem to get enough dried fruit... especially dried mangoes.  With Olin, I LOVED turkey burgers and with this one, dried fruit, seems stereotypically gender specific huh?
