Over The Weekend

The top item on our agenda this weekend was to get Olin's stroller in for a tune-up.  I am not kidding, that is what the stroller shop calls it.  Because we are New Yorkers again and walk everywhere, we managed to wear through the back tires of little mister's travel stroller in a mere 9 months!  The stroller shop is located in Soho so when we dropped the stroller off on Saturday afternoon, we decided to stop for lunch while downtown for a burrito at one of our favorite places... Benny's.  Little mister opted for a cheese quesadilla, which he referred to as "pizza" and that he devoured.  His appetite has definitely returned from last week's stomach bug.

And then on Sunday when we went back downtown to pick the stroller up, we met our friends Bridget, Damon and baby Hollan for brunch (Mexican again) at El Toro Blanco.  It was beautiful on Sunday so we also spent a little time shopping in Soho, which is where we found one of my new favorite places.. Chobani Soho, which is a yogurt bar!  However, it is so incredible, it warrants a repeat visit and a post of it's own so stay tuned!

Also, we went to Nespresso to buy this milk frother that I have been dreaming about for weeks now.  Partly because of my desire to make drinks for Josh and I, like tea mistos and warm chocolate almond milk, but mostly for our little one.  So here is my bad parent confession of the week... Olin still drinks milk out of a bottle every morning when he wakes up and every night before he goes to bed.  Yes, I know that he is over 2 years old and much too old for a bottle, but he refuses to give it up.  I thought that perhaps if we made the milk more fun, such as in a milk frother where he can watch it whirl around and foam up, and then put it in a fun glass (i.e. one with a picture of Santa) he would find the whole experience just too fun to pass up.  I was wrong.  We tried it last night - he took one sip (a promising start) and then looked at us like "it's good, but you know what would make it even better... if it was in a bottle!"  He then refused to drink anymore until we pored it into his bottle.  I am out of ideas.  If anyone has any tips for getting him off the bottle, please let me know because we are getting desperate over here!

I didn't take a lot of photos this weekend, but here are a few from Benny's....
