Preparation for the Big Day

School starts on Monday and we could not be more excited around here for little mister.  His three sweet teachers, Cornelia, Joanna, and Gail, came over to our house yesterday to meet their newest pupil.  And then last night was Parent's Night and finally today was Olin's first visit to the classroom with one of the other little boys in his class.

His teachers have a lot of fun things planned for the class - music lessons (including a Raffi module!), cooking, field trips to the Post Office, a fire station, and a pizza parlor (where they get to learn how to make authentic NY pizza!), lady bug and tadpole raising and so much more!  I loved school so much when I was little and I know Josh did too so we are looking forward to all of the experiences our little guy is going to have.

Josh and I have celebrated various accomplishments over the years, but today, watching our little boy explore his classroom and play with his teachers with not even the slightest hint of trepidation was perhaps one of my proudest moments.  I am not embarrassed to say that I even started to tear up a little as I sat there with him.

P.S.  I tried to get a little video of him in his classroom today, but the other little boy with us (who attended the school last year by the way) screamed at the top of his lungs for much of the time.  Which, to me, makes little mister's adjustment to the classroom even that much more impressive.
