But don't worry, I did not receive any special treatment from this lovely city of ours. While I tried to drag my aching body to Olin's school yesterday afternoon to pick him up, a cyclist speeding toward me at an intersection yelled "wake-up!" as he blew past me - ah, NYC.
Luckily, I have two boys at home that took great care of me - Josh brought me the most beautiful flowers that smell wonderful and was super daddy as soon as he got home so that I could lay down for a little bit. And then Olin, seemingly knowing that I wasn't feeling great, spontaneouslly leaned over and gave me the sweetest kiss on my cheek as we sat on the couch together for his nightly bottle of milk - if that doesn't make you feel better, I don't know what will.
Our big boy also did wonderful again in school yesterday and the full day in class was no problem for him. He is really stealing the hearts of his teachers too. During their nap time yesterday, apparently little mister woke up after just a half hour and then proceeded to sit in the other room with his teachers and talk and talk to them for over an hour while the other children slept. They thought it was the funniest thing. He is really embracing this school thing - this morning when I told him that it was time to go to school and asked him to get in his stroller, he jumped right in (and let me tell you, mr. independent has not loved his stroller lately) and then gave me a kiss on my nose as I buckled him in. Once we got to school, he knew exactly where to go and knocked on his classroom door like he's been going there for months. We really lucked out with this one.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Some photos from breakfast this morning - this guy has little interest in sitting in his booster seat while he eats anymore... such a big boy.
